Go Short is looking for previewers & selection committee members!

Go Short is currently seeking passionate cinephiles to join our selection team as either previewer or selection committee member. If you have a unique perspective on (video) art, an eye for detail and talent, and are socially engaged and critical of the world around you, we invite you to help us broaden our view and share your opinion on short films.

• As a short film previewer, you will play a crucial role in independently watching a large number of short films and selecting the most interesting ones for the Go Short selection committee.
• As part of the selection committee (only for people based in the Netherlands) you will also discuss the longlist in person with the other committee members to form the final selections

Go Short organizes a yearly call for short films and accepts short video works in all forms, as long as they are under 30 minutes in length.

• As a Previewer, you will be responsible for watching a portion of the films submitted through our call for entry. You will be the first filter in the selection process, identifying the most promising films and providing a thoughtful motivation for your choices. Deadline for watching all the films will be at the end of December.
• As a Selection Committee member you will also watch the forwarded films from the preview committee, and contribute to the longlist that will be watched by the other committee members. The longlist will be discussed by the end of January in person in Nijmegen.

Profile:

• Motivation to dive into short film and new talents
• Ability to work independently and handle a large volume of short films.
• Excellent communication skills to write concise reviews
• Open view on (video) art
• Preferably an addition to the team in background and/or point of view

We offer:

• A freelance assignment where you will watch around 300 films (exact number open for discussion).
• Flexibility in setting your own working hours within a structure of deadlines.
• Compensation of 1000 euro (based on approximately 72 hours of film), and for the selection committee members a compesation for the meetings.
• Access to our online database to write and submit your short reviews.
• Preferred start date: end of September or as soon as possible, in consultation.
