Go Short 2018 deadlines approaching – Submit your film now!

The official submission deadline for Go Short 2018 is approaching. Submit your film now to be in time. Shorts completed on or after 1 June 2017 can submit until 25 November 2017. Newer shorts completed in November or December, or works in progress, are accepted until 22 December 2017. The earlier you submit, the better.

If selected, you become part of the tenth edition of Go Short – International Short Film Festival Nijmegen. During this festive edition, around 300 short films are screened at various locations. For our competition programs we are looking for recent European short films. All genres short films (animation, documentary, fiction/live-action and experimental/art film) are accepted. Maximum length is 30 minutes.

European Competition
The European Competition will consist of shorts in all genres that have been made in (geographical) Europe. The films are eligible for the Go Short Award for Best European Short in the four different categories. The awarded animation and fiction films also receive an Academy Award Qualifier.

Dutch Competition
The Dutch Competition is a selection of films made in the Netherlands, from which the best film will be awarded with the Go Short Award for Best Dutch Short as well as an Academy Award Qualifier.

Student Competition
The Student Competition will consist of short films in all genres made in European film schools. The best film will be awarded with an Encouragement Award.

All films will compete for the Go Short Audience Award and a selection of films will join The Youth Competition. The best film out of this competition wins the Go Short Youth Award.
