Go Short Arnhem 2022

Go Short Arnhem is right around the corner. As of 8-11 September 2022, short films will take over town in film theater FOCUS and a versatile programming in Rozet.

For the fourth time, Go Short will actively support and boost local and regional film talent by hosting an event that’s all about the local makers in Arnhem. Go Short Arnhem is an annually returning Short Film Festival for a broad and diverse audience.

Along with this, there’s the Guelder Competition – which awards the best film with the Gouden Hert Award (translation: Gold Deer) – and lots of networking opportunities for talented, local filmmakers. On top of that, we’ll organize screenings at interesting spots around town during the event Off the Walls and we’ll present international programs that cater to current issues. The deadline for sending in your film has expired. The call was closed at 27 june 2022.

Why Go Short Arnhem?

Go Short is all about the makers. As cultural organization, Go Short believes it’s vital to give filmmakers, big and small, a chance to show their films to a large audience and to see these filmmakers grow and develop.

We hate to see good, regional talent go to waste. That’s why we stimulate these makers in an early stage in their career. Our focus during Go Short Arnhem goes to the local talent walking around in the province of Gelderland.

We show our commitment during the Gelderland Film Pitch. Out of the many applications filmmakers have sent in, only three winners come out of it after a strict selection process. These winners receive € 5.000,- each from Go Short to realise their film dream. Omroep Gelderland adds another €2.500,- to this budget. The remaining budget needed for the filmmakers to make their films is gathered through crowdfunding.

But that’s not all. We’ll keep following the winners from the Gelderland Film Pitch after Go Short Arnhem and support them through the entire productional process, from scriptwriting to distribution. These films are given a spot in the programming of the international film festival Go Short Nijmegen during the next edition.

Go Short Arnhem and the Gelderland Film Pitch are supported by Provincie Gelderland, Gemeente Arnhem, Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds, Omroep Gelderland, Ondernemersfonds Arnhem and was made possible by Focus Filmtheater, Rozet and Gelders DOEK.
