Open call: Buma Music in Motion
Together with Buma Music in Motion, we are organizing a matchmaking between composers and directors. Buma Music in Motion believes that all music plays a critical role, especially in film. That’s why we work with directors, editors and media composers.
Do you dream of composing for Short Film? This is your chance! Attend Go Short, the short film festival in The Netherlands from March 31 to April 10, 2023. During the festival, you will see the best and latest European short films, and the Go Short Awards are given to the best of the best.
In addition to the competitions, Go Short offers an extensive program, including this year a new collaboration with Buma Music in Motion. As a music talent, you can sign up for a matchmaking session with an established director of short films. Pitch your ideas and ask all your questions while growing your network. Check here which directors are present and let your preferences know during registration. There is limited space for composers, so don’t wait too long to register. Composers from the province Gelderland will get an advantage with this call!
The fifteenth edition of Go Short will take place from March 31 to April 10, 2023 in LUX and various locations in Nijmegen.

What are we looking for?
- 6 composers (young talent as well as mid career)
- Buma/Stemra member
- At least 2 local composers (from region Gelderland)
- Availability on Saturday 8 April
What can you expect?
- A chance to connect with short film makers
- Access to matchmaking program Go Short (no full festival accreditation)
- No reimbursement of travel expenses
What do you need to do?
- Send us your bio, photo, link to your work, Buma/Stemra number and motivation (max. 200 words) before Friday 24 March
- Let us know which directors you would like to meet
