CALL FOR ENTRY GO SHORT 2024 OPEN

With Go Short 2023 still fresh in the memory and Go Short Arnhem still ahead, the Go Short festival team is also busy preparing for the 16th festival edition, which will take place from 3 to 6 April 2024. As of now it is possible for filmmakers to submit their short film for one of the competition programs. Selected films have a chance to win prestigious international awards. Indeed, Go Short is the official gateway to the Oscars®, BAFTAs and the European Film Awards.
European Competition
The European competition will consist of short films in all genres made in (geographically) Europe. Films will be eligible for the Go Short Award for Best European Short in three different categories. The award-winning animation, fiction and documentary films will also receive an Academy Award Qualifier.
Dutch Competition
From all submissions, the selection committee makes a collection of the best recent Dutch short films. A jury will reward a film they choose with the Go Short Award for Best Dutch Short and an Academy Award Qualifier.
New Arrivals Competition
The New Arrivals competition will consist of short films in all genres, made at European film schools. The best film will be awarded the Go Short New Arrivals Award.
In addition, all films in the above competitions will be in the running for the Go Short Audience Award during the festival, and the various juries will together determine which film will be officially nominated as the Go Short candidate for the European Film Awards.
Deadlines for submission
22 September 2023 for films completed between 1 December 2022 and 1 June 2023.
24 November 2023 for all films completed on or after 1 June 2023.
22 December 2023 that have been completed in November or December 2023.
