Campus 2018: an opportunity not to miss out on
Once again, the New Arrivals: Go Short Campus was a big success! During the week of the festival, 20 young filmmakers from all over Europe (and Lebanon!) were selected to participate in masterclasses, workshops and industry events. All whilst being part of a inspiring and fun group of newly found friends.
The Campus is a great way to experience the festival and its professional networking possibilities, but also to develop ideas for a new film and get a lot of feedback and tips from renowned producers, directors and speakers. And each other.
By applying for a spot with a project, the Campus members had the opportunity to perfect their pitching skills by practicing and performing a pitch in front of training coach and a panel of industry professionals. In addition, they followed classes on directing for VR, (co)producing, festival distribution and strategy and were special guests at two exclusive masterclasses focusing on this year’s guest directors Patrik Eklund and Eva Weber. Last but not least, as a Campus participant, they were a guest at all the industry talks, panels, masterclasses, drinks and parties.
After only five days, they went home inspired, excited about putting their newly learned skills into action, their contact lists filled with new connections and friends, and a fun week filled with laughter and creativity to look back on.
