Master class: how to write a good director’s vision.

Writing a good director’s vision is an indispensable skill for any filmmaker. Directing visions are essential for entering into new collaborations and obtaining funding, and are therefore the basis of your success as a filmmaker. But what exactly is a director’s vision and how do you write one?

On Sunday, September 10 from 15:30 there will be another Gelderland Film Meeting at the Focus Filmtheater in Arnhem. During this master class, filmmaker and Golden Calf winner Sven Bresser and Absaline Hehakaya, project manager of Selective Funding for Het Filmfonds, will tell you more about writing a director’s vision.

As a director, you probably have a good plan and a clear image of the film you want to make. But before you can actually start making it, you first have to convince a number of other parties of your vision. Think of a producer and crew but also funds. One way to do this is to write a powerful, unique, and clear directorial vision. But what is the best way to express your vision? What does a good director’s vision have to meet and what should you not do?
