Gelderland Film Pitch winners start with crowdfunding campaign!
The winners of Gelderland Film Pitch 2021 have started their crowdfunding campaigns. Sophie van Bree, Bart de Piraat and the duo Hanneke Klaver and Tosca Schift received a starting budget of €5,000 from Go Short, supplemented with an amount of €2,500 by Omroep Gelderland.
The remaining amount that the winners need for the realization of their project in the coming year, they must collect themselves through a crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with Cinecrowd. Their films will premiere at Go Short in the spring of 2022.
Film plans
On May 7, several talented filmmakers pitched their film plans to a professional jury. The winners convinced the jury, each in their own way. With her film Synchroon, Sophie van Bree, who grew up in Vaassen, wants to pay a visual tribute to being together and offer support to people who have lost someone they love very much.
Animator Bart de Piraat regularly collaborates with makers from the region. The central theme for his film Kantelpunt is balance. “If the world gets out of balance, does it make sense to restore the original balance or does a new one have to be found?”
Hanneke Klaver and Tosca Schift studied Product Design at ArtEZ School of the Arts in Arnhem and discovered that their interests go further than just designing objects. By filming objects, they bring more imagination and fantasy into the world of products and their relationship to people. With Sock Monster, an urgent story is playfully told based on a character that these makers already know so well. In four weeks, the participants hope to collect the remaining amount for the realization of their short film.
The Gelderland Film Pitch and Go Short Arnhem are supported by Gemeente Arnhem, Provincie Gelderland, Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds Gelderland, Omroep Gelderland, and made possible in part by Focus Filmtheater, Rozet and Gelders DOEK.
