Go Short brings out an online festival
NEWS! On demand short film festival from 15 April – 13 May.
With a scheduled opening of the 12th edition yesterday, Go Short would have been on full swing today.
Although it cannot live up to the inspiring 5-day meeting place for short film talent & lovers from all over Europe we had in mind, we are presenting an exciting online alternative as of 15 April.
Together with several international festivals, we are currently developing our own streaming platform. In two weeks from now, on 15 April, we will launch Go Short Online. With this on demand short film festival we aim to present a big part of the original festival. We will present the official competitions of Go Short 2020 with an exception of the VR section, and our In Focus and Current Issues programs amongst others. More information on the program and dates of online ticket sale and Award Ceremony will follow soon. Our educational school program will be available for on demand screenings later this year.
By doing this we honor the film selection and curation of 2020, our talent platform and hub to international prizes EFA, Oscar and BAFTA, and present you with the best Go Short 2020 has to offer! In the meantime, we are exploring alternative dates and online possibilities for our distribution and other year-round platform activities such as the Gelderland Film Pitch. More information will be provided in the following weeks.
Reorganizing the festival, which usually attracts 650 film professionals every year and counts around 20,000 visits in five days, at such short notice is not only a technical challenge but also a tour de force for the entire team. We are therefore all the more pleased that many of our partners have already promised us their continued support. Go Short wants to express a big THANK YOU to all the filmmakers and professionals involved for their great flexibility in these difficult moments. Stay safe and see you online as of April 15!
