Since 2019, 9 emblematic European festivals organize the European Short Film Audience Award (ESFAA): a selection of the very best European short films of last year awarded with a national audience award in the Festivals partners and going on a tour to win the title of European audiences’ favorite short film.

The principle is simple: 9 short films, 9 festivals, 9 audiences to charm, 9 votes, one winner chosen as the European Short Film Audience Award after a one-year tour.

Festivals participating in the ESFAA: Brussels Short Film Festival (Belgium), Curtas Vila do Conde (Portugal), Wiz-Art Festival (Ukraine, no film this year), Encounters (United Kingdom), Alcine – Festival de Cine (Spain), Interfilm – International Short Film Festival Berlin (Germany), Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival (France), Tampere Film Festival (Finland), Short Waves Festival (Poland) and Go Short (Netherlands)
