Putting the Dutch Caribbean on the map! With a lively audio-visual scene, Dutch Caribbean cinema has much to offer; unfortunately most productions don’t reach mainland Europe. Go Short wants to highlight the often underrepresented Caribbean perspective with two film programs from the islands. Curated by visual artist Kevin Osepa, both the history of the Caribbean and the post-colonial present are being explored. With a mix of contemporary and older films, each program aims to evoke a conversation between past and the start of a new future. This program has much attention for smaller stories, showing lives of real people from the islands rather than making big statements.
