About this film

Kontrewers follows an imagined encounter between the ghost of a possessed girl, bound to a folktale and trapped within a stone, and the filmmaker’s 102-year-old grandmother, confined to her living room and nearing death. Drawn to the pious older woman, the ghost mistakes her for her long-lost mother, and what begins as a haunting evolves into an intimate, surreal dialogue.
