Industry

Since its founding in 2009, Go Short – International Short Film Festival Nijmegen has grown into the leading short film festival in the Netherlands and one of the most influential short film festivals in Europe. The festival is a qualifying event for the Academy Awards, BAFTA, and the European Film Awards, underlining its quality, professionalism, and international relevance.

Go Short functions as a hub for short films, talent development, and international exchange. It provides visibility, network opportunities, and creative growth for filmmakers from all over the world. Each year, the festival presents over 300 short films from more than 40 countries, and welcomes over 500 international industry guests, producers, programmers, distributors, and fund representatives. The 2026 edition builded on this strong foundation and continues to strengthen Go Short’s role as a meeting place between regions, generations, and disciplines, while maintaining its roots in Nijmegen.

Industry program 2026

A refreshed and sharpened Go Short Industry Program returned on April 9-11, 2026. Three days of intensive program, packed panels, talks, masterclasses and speed dating opportunities. For the first time in 2026, the program was divided into four categories, Inspiration, Network, Training, and Market. For students and the industry newcomers, we prepared an overarching Talent Route with daily talks and meet ups designed especially for the future voices of the industry.

About the Industry program

Inspiration

From in-depth panel discussions to visionary keynotes and practical talks, our inspiration program connects filmmakers with fresh perspectives from across the international (short) film landscape. These sessions highlight emerging trends, unveil new creative possibilities, and offer insight into the ever-evolving industry of short film.

Network

Go Short brings together a unique mix of filmmakers, programmers, producers, and distributors. Through speeddates, closed meetings, and low-key gatherings, participants can grow their network in meaningful and accessible ways. We help build long-term professional connections that often lead to new projects, collaborations, and career breakthroughs.

Training

With dedicated initiatives such as the Producers Campus and the Writers Room, Go Short offers targeted training opportunities that translate directly into practice. These programs give filmmakers – in the broadest sense of the word – the tools, feedback, and expert guidance they need to refine their craft.

Market

Our market-focused activities – including the Dutch Short Film Pitch, curated distributor screenings, and the exclusive Dutch Short Film Preview – provide filmmakers with direct access to decision-makers. We offer a platform to present new work, find partners, and position films for international visibility.
