The Age of Disinformation

The rise of the internet, social media, and more recently AI has also meant a rise in uncertainty about the truthfulness of the information and images we consume. The online landscape has become an arena of manipulation, where tech companies and political movements tinker with algorithms and deepfakes to alter public opinion, policy decisions, and even state elections. In this program, we take a closer look at the ongoing stream of disinformation, from state-controlled media to images circling on our favorite social platforms. The role of context is no longer clear, but maybe we can use manipulation to our advantage.
