Under bridges, in cellars, on abandoned industrial sites and in old concentration camps, art and culture has been created in Nijmegen. Sometimes out of necessity or protest, sometimes out of pure love for that form of expression. With the documentary Verborgen Verhalen (Hidden Stories), we make the invisible visible to you, so that it can never disappear again.

Verborgen Verhalen is a heritage project by the Night Mayor Foundation Nijmegen that retrieves and shares unknown and as yet invisible stories from the music history of Nijmegen and the surrounding area. The stories of four communities—the city’s Moluccan, queer, graffiti, and squatter/techno communities—are translated into artworks, an exhibition, and a documentary.
