The Flowers Stand Silently, Witnessing by Theo Panagopoulos was put forward by the Go Short 2025 jury as the Dutch candidate for the European Film Awards. We are proud to announce that the film has now been officially nominated in the category European Short Film – Prix Vimeo 2026 at the 38th European Film Awards!

This poignant film explores the intersection of archival footage and contemporary issues, with a particular focus on Palestinian heritage and identity.

The Go Short 2025 jury, which also awarded the film Best Documentary, stated:

“By reappropriating a colonial gaze and transforming it into an act of memory, this film reimagines the archive as a living, breathing space. Drawing connections between ecology and exile, presence and erasure, it offers a deeply political yet poetic form of resistance.”
