The Go Short 2026 Program is live!

Good news: the full program of Go Short 2026 is now online and individual tickets are available from today. From 7 to 12 April, Nijmegen will once again transform for six days into a paradise for lovers of short film. Below you will find a few highlights.

Late Night program expanded with Sci fi and Dark Fantasies

Our popular Late Night program is for everyone who wants to stick around after sunset for something exciting, absurd, or a little playful. This year the familiar classics return: Horror, Weird Animation and Erotica, and we introduce two new programs: Sci-fi and Dark Fantasies. In Sci-fi you step into worlds with strange creatures, unknown technologies and possible dystopias that make us reflect on the future and our place in it. Dark Fantasies is a feverish mix of science fiction, fantasy, horror and erotica in which dark fantasies come to life, from fairy tale rap musicals to virtual shadow worlds and Catholic power fantasies. These are the screenings that will keep you glowing long into the night.

A low stimulus film experience

For some people, going to the cinema can be quite intense. Dark rooms, loud sound and many stimuli do not always make it easy to enjoy film. That is why we are organising a sensory friendly screening this year. In this program we show a selection of short films with a calm tone and fewer visual and auditory stimuli, mainly documentaries and animated films. The sound is lower than usual. In this way we create a relaxed viewing experience for visitors who are sensitive to stimuli.

Best of the Fests

Within Best of the Fests we bring together some of the most fun, striking and beloved short films of the past year. Here you will find programs such as International Highlights, Comedy Shorts, Oscar Shorts, Award Winners and Audience Favorites. Films that previously won prizes, received a lot of attention at international festivals, or captured the hearts of audiences. In short: these are the programs you simply can't go wrong with.

Raise a glass, catch up and print your own shirt on the festival grounds

There is also plenty to experience outside the cinema. On the festival grounds at Mariënburgplein you can relax between screenings with a drink from De Hemel, a pizza from LUX or a portion of Loaded Fries. Meanwhile your ears will be treated to great tunes from the Platenbus. With a bit of sunshine it is a wonderful place to sit on the terrace, but even when the weather is less kind it remains a cosy meeting place. This year De Zeefmeester will also be on the festival grounds. Bring a T shirt and have it printed on the spot with your own Go Short design!

Are you as excited as we are? The full program is now online and individual tickets are available from today. We hope to see you between 7 and 12 April at Go Short!
