Nijmegen plays the leading role in the new Go Short campaign

Anyone walking through Nijmegen in the coming weeks will find it almost impossible to miss them: red swarms spreading across the cityscape. In the campaign for our 18th edition, hundreds of graphic shapes fly through recognizable locations in the city. In this way, Nijmegen itself becomes the backdrop for announcing our festival, which takes place from April 7 to 12.

The campaign showcases recognizable locations in the city. In consultation with the artists, we used, for example, “Het Gezicht van Nijmegen” by artist Andreas Hetfeld on the city island of Veur-Lent, the Kruittoren, and the colorful mural by Collin van der Sluijs and Super A at Café Van Deelen. By combining photography, film footage, and illustrations, a playful and surreal image is created in which short films literally seem to move through the city. The slogan “Short Films Are Back in Town” underscores that Nijmegen will soon once again be dedicated to short films for six days.

For part of the photography, the Lunet apartment complex and the Kruittoren, we collaborated with Nijmegen photographer Paul Beckers. The combination of local artworks and cityscapes gives the campaign a distinctly Nijmegen character.

The campaign images were designed by Martine Eelman of Teunis.
