This was Go Short 2026

Wow! It was wonderful. The (mostly) lovely weather, the packed theaters, your enthusiasm. From April 7th to 12, the city turned Go Short red once again. And we certainly noticed! And so did you. Because the theaters were fuller than ever. Together, we celebrated the short film in all its forms. Go Short #18 was an event featuring more than 550 film professionals from home and abroad, thousands of visitors, endless conversations, spontaneous dancing, and so many beautiful encounters.

And for that, we want to thank you all immensely. Without our amazing visitors, we could never have put on such a vibrant festival. We are still basking in the glow of this edition. And luckily, we still have the photos!

The festival grounds

The festival grounds were buzzing with life this year. You flocked to our lovely terrace in droves for a bite, a drink, and a good conversation. You could get beers from Brouwerij de Hemel at our bar, a tasty bite at Loaded Legends, and delicious pizzas at LUX. While you were enjoying that, your ears were treated to great tunes from the Platenbus. You could stop by the VPRO for a chat, and if you were in the mood for a game or a VR movie, the Kas was open for you every day. In short: you could easily entertain yourself on the grounds for quite a while.

The Go Short Awards

During the 18th edition of Go Short, the coveted Go Short Awards were presented during a live show. The awards form an important springboard for the Oscars, BAFTA and European Film Awards, among others. The jury announced to a full room in LUX, in hometown Nijmegen, who had won the awards. The winning films provide personal perspectives from different places.

The parties

There was plenty of partying again! On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, we really let loose. We danced the night away in the Plu, the Plak, and the Witte Raaf until dawn.

Industry events for over 550 professionals

Every year, filmmakers and other film professionals from all over Europe travel to Nijmegen to participate in our Industry Program. During the festival, they can meet each other in an accessible way to share their own experiences and learn from experts. This year there was again a packed program with masterclasses, talks and workshops.
